According to an earnest warning on Volumes 1 and 2, Sesame Street: Old School is adults-only: These early Sesame Street episodes are intended for grown-ups, and may not suit the needs of today's preschool child.
These are touchy and politically-correct times in which we live, and they contrast harshly against the world of early Sesame Street episodes.
A common Internet forward describes the care-free world in which we lived back in the 1970's and 1980's and declares that we are all fine despite lead-lined toys, trampolines without safety boundaries, and playing outside after dark. I think the same applies to our experiences with Sesame Street: were any of you scarred for life after watching the Cookie Monster devour cookies, and even when he did the same to his pipe during Monsterpiece Theatre parodies?
