My daughter beat the living tar out of me tonight.
We roughhoused for about an hour before bed, so we just might wake up with bruises tomorrow morning. She absolutely loves to jump off the footstool onto me. She’s a very sadistic little professional wrestler. Normally she would jump upon my stomach, but I really did not want to block those shots all night, not that she is getting bigger every day. So instead, she jumped upon my hips, which was tolerable.
I also played airplane quite a bit. I would put the heels of my feet on her hips and hoist her up in the air while holding her hands. She did not take long to figure out how to wiggle out of that and fall on me on purpose. Ouch.
She then spent five minutes ramming her head into my spinal cord. She hit me so squarely that last time, I swore I had gone numb.
I finally convinced her to just sit on my knees while I lay on the floor. Whew, she really wore me out.

It’s nice that the kids are out of sports for the time being now. Our nights are not as frantic, and we get home at decent hours. Heather and Dylan were able to make beef and noodles last night for dinner, so we had something home cooked for the first time in ages.
We made so much, that we had leftovers tonight, and they were just as good as before. We have our lives back! At least for now.
